What are we here for?

GEMS

Our four aims:

  • Grow - in discipleship
  • Evangelise - in life and deed
  • Magnify God - in worship
  • Support each other - in community

Church Life

Decision Making and Leadership

A Baptist church makes its own decisions about its life through the meeting of church members, without having decisions forced on it by a higher level of organisation.

The minister and deacons (who include the Secretary and Treasurer) form the leadership team, responsible for discerning a clear vision from the Holy spirit and encouraging growth. The minister and deacons are also the Local Acting Trustees of the church. The Leadership page lists the names and contacts.

Other leadership roles are taken by the Ministry Team, responsible, with the Minister, for pastoral care.

"Safe to Grow" (Child Protection)

The church ensures that all its work wit children and young people is in a safe environment, free from physical, sexual and emotional abuse. Leaders are required to report any abuse discovered or suspected. Everyone who works with children and young people must confirm their acceptance of the church's policy.
